from the sofa to the summit

This site is intended to inspire people to envision what’s possible for themselves if they’d only devote a few hours per week to achieving and maintaining a fit lifestyle.

When I reached the age of 50, I came to the realization that I am actually getting older.  When my children completed their college experience I started looking for something to commit to in order to be passionately engaged for the next phase of my life.

It became clear to me that to have a vibrant and active future, I needed to make sure that my body would be able to sustain that type of lifestyle.  It should be obvious to all of us that the quality of our conditioning will determine the quality of our “older age”.

If our bodies are strong , the likelihood of having good health

and lots of energy are increased.  Good health and lots of energy

are what we want and need to enjoy our retirement years.

What’s the point of having a future lifestyle determined by

what medications we take to enable us to get through the day?

Let’s get off the Sofa and onto the Summit!

My goal is to inspire people to live a fit lifestyle

These are photos taken at the Don Sheldon Hut  on the Ruth Glacier in Denali National Park in Alaska.

We flew in via ski plane and spent 5 days skiing and ski touring from out hut.

The photo on the left is viewed down the Ruth Gorge.  The photo at the top is of Denali on a clear day.

The other photos are of the Don Sheldon Hut.  A truly amazing place.
